Frosty The Snowmound

We got a little bit of snow Saturday night into Sunday, maybe an inch or so but enough to get the girls excited and prompt a little snowman-building session while Gwen and I enjoyed coffee and the paper inside.

One of the many advantages of 5 and 7, we've found, is that we can actually open the door and say, in effect, "go nuts," without having to actually participate in whatever rigorous outdoor activity happens to be on the agenda. This is particularly helpful on freezing Sunday mornings in December.

On one of the trips between the couch and the coffee pot I stopped off at the window to get a look at what they'd come up with and immediately grabbed the camera and ran outside in flip flops and shorts. It was worth the trip.

More of a mound than a man, but lovingly created and to say they made the most of the available snow would be an understatement. I was going to call him Snow Jabba the Hut, but the girls have never seen or heard of Star Wars so they would have missed the reference entirely.

I keep hearing that the years from 5-7 are just plain glorious. This proves it.

Those girls you have are BRILLIANT.

Ooooh! what a cuty snowmound! It's great that you immortalized him with a photo! They did such a great job with what little snow was available! Very cute!

How sweet! I wish we could have even that much snow---I think we'll just be building Mud Men for a while if the rain keeps up.

What a cute snowmound! Your kids did a good job and they did put their imagination at work. I can tell that he was a happy snowmound considering his limitations. Happy holidays!
