Wild Art

We've been picking up some new visitors over the last few days, largely as a result of a very nice post over at The Best of Blogs. So, in an attempt to get everyone up to speed (and to phone it in on a Saturday) I thought I would compile some of the more memorable wild art/screen saver/wallpaper images that have graced this blog over the last couple of years.

In other news, the Olive integration is proceeding nicely. Allergy impact has been minimal to non-existent, I guess there really is something to these anecdotal claims that have been directed at Siberian cats. The girls are dragging carrying her all over the house, and she's been unbelievably good natured about it. I can say without reservation that she's been a great addition to the family.

Here she is, earlier today, sleeping on Ava.

Now for the photos...

Olive - the little tabby - is simply beautiful! I loved her immediately as I saw her photos. I am a big fan of cats (by the way I suffered from allergy, too, but cats were always around me, and my respiratory tract got accustomed to their fur and my allergy ceased.)
Just cherish that little cat, she is so lovely!

A lot of really nice comments in response to these photos, and a few questions, let me take them all on here.

I took these myself, with a Canon PowerShot Digital ELPH - the SD750. Basically a very standard point-and-shoot digital that is about the size of a deck of cards. I can't recommend it highly enough, especially if you like taking pictures and hate carrying things around with you, as I do.

A little bit of background on each of the shots:

1. Taken while looking at the sky while bouncing around on a float in my parents' pool.

2. Our lawn.

3. Light dancing on the water in the above-mentioned pool.

4. A vineyard in Italy.

5. A Hydrangea in our backyard.

6. Flying over the Alps.

7. Bleeding Heart in our backyard.

8. Palm Beach, Aruba.

9. Snow in our backyard.

10. One of our trees.

11. Lake Como, Italy.

12. One of Madison's school projects, probably my favorite so far, hanging on our front door.

And there you have it.
